Gloucestershire based consultancy, CDS Defence & Security (CDS DS) has been awarded a contract to deliver Support Services to the Joint CEMA Group (JCG) for Project ERUGATE, over five years and to a potential value of £30m
CDS DS has delivered mission critical support activities to Project ERUGATE for over 19 years, providing a team of specialist engineers, operators, analysts, project managers and support staff at JCG sites overseas and in the UK. Our Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) have also delivered training and mentoring to Forces personnel as they move in and out of roles.
Ramboll launch free training app to support employees returning to work
As the UK Covid-19 lockdown restrictions begin to ease, engineering, design and environmental consultancy firm Ramboll has launched a new, free interactive training app to help businesses prepare and support employees returning to the office, while effectively reducing the risk of infection.
The app, ‘Prevent infection – Offices’, directs employees through typical everyday office situations where there might be a risk of infection, and provides clear training in how to effectively reduce this risk – whether in lifts, shared facilities or on the commute.
VOLVO CARS REPORTS GLOBAL SALES OF 44,830 CARS IN MAY
Volvo Cars sold 44,830 cars in May, down 25.5 per cent compared with the same month last year, as sales and showroom traffic trends in Europe improved and sales in China continued to grow.
In the US, sales recovered quicker than expected as more states loosened restrictions put in place due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In the January-to-May period, Volvo Cars’ global sales reached 208,479 cars, down 25.0 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Health Secretary announces new Test and Trace system
Yesterday the Health Secretary announced how we will be tracing the spread of the virus through the use of a new system.
From today (28 May), anyone who tests positive for coronavirus will be contacted by NHS Test and Trace and will need to share information about their recent interactions. This could include household members, people with whom they have been in direct contact, or within 2 metres for more than 15 minutes.
Cleanology is first to kit staff out in uniforms made from 7,000 plastic bottles
Pioneering cleaning firm Cleanology is saving 7,000 plastic bottles a year from landfill by kitting out staff in uniforms made from recycled plastic.
CEO Dominic Ponniah said: “We are extremely proud to be the first to introduce recycled uniforms within our industry. This is just the latest drive to make Cleanology a truly sustainable business. We already operate an electric fleet, and tackle portion control with our chemical-free sachets. Buying recycled, in the form of recycled uniforms, helps to close the loop even further.”
CHSA calls on the Government to specify employees of manufacturers and distributors of cleaning & hygiene products as eligible for priority testing
The Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA) has written to the Health Secretary, The Rt Hon Matt Hancock MP, asking employees of manufacturers and distributors of cleaning and hygiene products be eligible for priority testing for the coronavirus
Anyone over the age of five who exhibits symptoms of COVID-19 – a temperature, cough and the loss of the sense of taste and smell – is now able to secure a test for coronavirus. Essential workers in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland can apply for priority testing through GOV.uk. These tests are prioritised over those made available to the wider public through the NHS.
