NEW ALTRO WOOD ADHESIVE FREE SETS A HIGH STANDARD AT SPECIAL SCHOOL
Brand new Altro Wood adhesive-free safety flooring has been fitted in Kaimes Special School, in Edinburgh, setting a high standard for easy to fit, slip-resistant and homely surfaces for pupils and staff.
The installation of the new flooring was part of a wider refurbishment of the school by the City of Edinburgh Council, and integral to their drive to reduce sensory overload in primary and secondary schools by using ‘natural’ neutral colours and textures.
RAF nursery secured with ASSA ABLOY Project Specification Group
Project Specification Group, a unit of ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions UK & Ireland, has specified a range of solutions for a RAF nursery in Oxfordshire, delivering assured access and safety for children using the facility.
Working in partnership with designers Frankham Consultancy Group and contractors Antac, the company specified a series of door opening solutions to the nursery at RAF Benson.
The RAF base required an extension to its existing nursery facilities, increasing its capacity to cater for more than 100 children. As a result, the specification process demanded products that were fully compliant and tailored to the needs of the young children that would be using the facility.

CHSA Donates £5,000 to Grief Encounter despite cancellation of Gala Ball due to Coronoavirus
Despite having to cancel its annual charity Gala Ball, which was to take place in April, the Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA) is donating £5,000 to the Chairman’s Charity, Grief Encounter.
Every year, thanks to the generosity of members and their guests, the CHSA raises thousands of pounds for the Chairman’s Charity at its Gala Ball – in 2019 the CHSA raised £8,000 for Grief Encounter. The social distancing essential to tackling the coronavirus meant this year’s Gala Ball has been cancelled so the CHSA took action.
Coronavirus cleaning taskforce launched by phs Group
Hygiene services firm phs Group has launched an emergency-response cleaning service for organisations affected by coronavirus.
Premises which have had a case of coronavirus can be deep cleaned and sanitised by the emergency taskforce from phs Interclean, the specialist cleaning division of phs Group. Reported cases will be treated with the utmost urgency and aimed to be cleaned within 24-48 hours of commission.
