T5 – Standalone Loyalty Card Solution
Stay Loyal
14th January 2011. The T5-LPC is a simple, low cost “PC-Free” customer loyalty solution designed for retailers who want to introduce an independent promotional loyalty scheme to their customers. Enabling loyalty cards to be printed and updated on demand at the Point of Sale in just a few seconds, this system uses the most up-to-date customer details and offers relevant promotions and information to customers’ at the most appropriate times. No extra software is required to set the T5-LPC system up, it provides an instant loyalty solution straight out of the box.

Featuring a built-in web based management system; the T5-LPC allows the loyalty scheme to be configured to suit the retailers individual needs including member types, card layouts, point values, graphics and promotional messages etc. Once configured, the system can then run without the need for a permanent connection to a PC of any kind. The benefit of creating a system in this way is that once up and running, it uses very little counter space, an important factor in any busy retail environment.

Day-to-day operation of the T5-LPC loyalty system is very straightforward. Simply insert a card, enter the amount of money spent, select a promotional message if required and the card is printed and updated with the new information. Each card can be re-written up to 500 times providing a more cost effective solution than regular cardboard loyalty systems. A transaction log is stored in the terminal which can be easily exported to an external database for analysis and marketing purposes.

The advanced system consists of a Star TCP300 or Star TCP400 rewrite card printer and the Terminal 5 Loyalty Program Controller (T5-LPC). An entry level basic system is also available which uses plain or preprinted contactless smart cards in place of the rewrite cards. This version is supplied with a thermal receipt printer to produce vouchers. The T5-LPC (supplied with both systems) is a simple, yet powerful terminal with a 2 line LCD display and numeric touch panel for ease of use.
