Following a recent investment of £50 million, AMF owns the single largest mineral wool board plant in Europe and one of the most modern in the world. Through increased capacity and state-of-the-art technology, AMF continues to develop new generation suspended ceiling products.

AMF is active in the education, healthcare, office and retail sectors. The Knauf AMF Forum
The Forum is a new state of the art facility that serves as a central meeting point and showroom for AMF’s global client base. When visiting the company’s recently expanded manufacturing plant, situated in the middle of the beautiful Bavarian Forest, guests can now see AMF’s extensive range of performance suspended ceilings installed in the modern training rooms, conference hall and cafe area of the forum.

Contractors and specifiers are invited to attend an extensive program of product and installation seminars; view AMF ceilings installed in bright and modern surroundings; discuss ceiling performance with technical advisers, and make full use of the cafe.

Ventatec is a brand new T-grid for AMF ceiling systems that combines the highest quality with great flexibility.

The unique click-in and click-out design of Ventatec ensures quick and easy assembly and disassembly.

With the addition of Ventatec Grid to their range, Knauf AMF now offers a one-stop solution for performance ceiling systems.

Ventatec is a modular system with one universal main runner that fits both the Click system and the Hook system made by Knauf AMF in Germany, on one of the fastest production lines in the world.

A stable connection between the main and cross tees is ensured with a stainless steel connector that is durable, non-wearing and non-corrosive.

Ventatec offers benefits to the installer through ease of handling and simplified installation.

With the Click system, an audible click confirms a secure connection.

Ventatec grid is also easy to remove due to the special stab-spring connector.

A universal slot accommodates the click or hook connector, meaning there are no unnecessary delays through incorrect application or installation.

The combination of stitching and ribbing delivers high torsion strength along with the necessary elasticity. A built-in fire expansion point offers controlled expansion in the case of fire, and clear labeling facilitates accurate re-ordering.

Excellent material quality, combined with precise production using state of the art machinery, ensures that Ventatec grid has a consistent high quality.

As a system manufacturer, Knauf AMF delivers ceiling tiles and grid from one source, simplifying and optimising logistics to save you time and money.

South Bristol is currently the focus of a major regeneration programme, centred on Hengrove Park. Part of this development includes a new £30m Skills Academy where Knauf AMF Ceilings have been installed extensively throughout this iconic building.

City of Bristol College developed the Skills Academy to offer a range of Diplomas, NVQs and BTEC courses for 14-19 year olds alongside a selection of adult education programmes. The new centre includes a hair and beauty salon, a training kitchen, workshops for motor vehicle, motor cycle and construction courses.

Throughout the centre, different areas required different levels of acoustic control, as Ian Hunt of AWW Architects explained: “Knauf AMF ceilings were recommended to us for their acoustic performance and products were selected to meet the individual acoustic requirements of each room throughout the building. Knauf AMF were able to provide a high performance solution, enabling us to source all ceilings from one manufacturer.”

Over 3000m2 of Knauf AMF’s Thermatex Acoustic ceiling tiles were fitted to the standard classrooms. Thermatex Acoustic is a high performance perforated mineral board with an acoustic fleece facing.

Thermatex Acoustic provides excellent sound absorption while the fleece offers a smooth, elegant surface finish.
For most other areas within the centre, Knauf AMF’s Thermatex Fine Stratos Micro-Perforated ceiling tiles were used. Made from bio-soluble mineral wool, perlites, clay and starch, these tiles offer outstanding physical properties in both fire resistance and acoustic performance.

The lightly textured, sanded finish creates a clean, crisp appearance while the micro-perforations enhance their acoustic performance.

Within the management offices, a higher level of privacy was required, so Knauf AMF’s Thermatex Acoustic dB41 tiles were specified. Their enhanced sound attenuation properties help to ensure that meetings and conversations held in the offices remain private.

In order to meet hygiene standards for the training kitchen, Knauf AMF’s Thermaclean tiles were chosen.

Featuring a white vinyl foil laminated to a Thermatex mineral board, Thermaclean tiles provide a durable, washable finish for areas requiring high levels of hygiene.
The Hengrove Park site will eventually feature a range of new homes and employment parks, with the first phase consisting of a new community hospital and leisure centre alongside the new Skills Academy.

Zurich Insurance has recently specified Knauf AMF ceilings for the main reception of its regional offices in Leeds. The 200m2 area was fitted with the new Thermatex Symetra tiles as part of an overall office refurbishment scheme, following a recommendation by Ormesby Ceiling contractors.

The reception area has been refurbished using Thermatex Symetra as recommended by Ormesby Ceilings, which creates a look similar to that of a metal ceiling but in a lightweight mineral tile. Both client and architect are very happy with the results.

Thermatex Symetra is a white ceiling tile with a choice of diagonal and vertical surface perforations that create attractive geometric effects. A wide range of perforation sizes and hole centres can be produced, as well as bespoke perforation patterns. Available as both tiles and planks, in a range of edge details and module sizes, Thermatex Symetra offers architects and designers even greater flexibility and scope for contemporary ceiling design. And performance is not compromised either since the Thermatex Symetra range provides high levels of sound absorption, good fire protection and excellent light reflection.

Their high quality finish makes Thermatex Symetra tiles ideal for installations where aesthetics are an important factor such as office reception areas, retail outlets and restaurants, and other spaces that need a distinctive and creative ceiling expression. Thermatex Symetra tiles are also lightweight and robust, making them very easy to cut and they allow full access to the ceiling void once installed.
