FLIR Systems is the world’s largest manufacturer of thermal imaging cameras for industrial applications. The breadth of its product range is unmatched.

In broad terms the FLIR Systems product programme comprises dedicated ranges of infrared cameras for preventive maintenance applications, building diagnostics, demanding scientific and R and D work and for process control, security and machine vision. Standard models are also available for gas detection.

FLIR Systems manufactures infrared cameras that are characterized by highly accurate temperature measurement, high-capacity image storage and comprehensive analysis capability. Systems fall into two categories, hand-held and fixed installation. The majority use a common-core imaging system, based on state-of-the-art cooled or uncooled sensor technology.

FLIR Systems cameras suit just about every budget and application from the simple “find-it, fix-it” toolbox tool through to high speed, high definition systems for research, development and scientific applications.

All camera products are manufactured in four plants, three are in the USA and one in Sweden. The combined facilities employ more than 1,300 dedicated infrared specialists and FLIR Systems is the only IR camera manufacturer with such a high degree of vertical integration.

To ensure high quality, FLIR Systems manufactures all critical elements in-house. The company is unique in the infrared world in that it manufactures both its own optics and detectors.

Today, FLIR Systems has fully owned subsidiaries in Belgium, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Sweden, the UK and the USA. A worldwide network of agents and distributors now spans more than 60 countries to support FLIR Systems international customer base.

FFE

FFE Ltd is the world’s largest independent manufacturer of infrared optical beam smoke detectors, with well over half-a-million beams sold. Our products are designed, engineered and manufactured to exacting standards and have attained product type approval in Europe (EN54, CPD, VdS), US (UL), China (CNTC), France (NF) and Russia (VNIIPO), to name a few. Products offered include end-to-end, reflective, and explosion proof beam detectors, all provided with a comprehensive warranty.

As well as beam detectors FFE, formerly known as Fire Fighting Enterprises, is also a world leader in the manufacture and supply of fire extinguishers for the aviation market. The comprehensive product range includes hand held cabin and cargo compartment extinguishers as well automatic lavatory compartment extinguishers.

A third product range is industrial vibration switches. Products include standard and ATEX certified explosion proof switches, which are used for the protection of rotating plant and reciprocating machinery.

FFE (Fire Fighting Enterprises) Ltd was acquired by Halma plc in November 2000, as part of its growth plans within the global Fire Protection Market. FFE continues to grow through a combination of high quality product and commitment to its customers.

Talentum® was acquired in April 2013 and integrated into FFE. The history started in 1968 when the first Talentum® invention was a device that would respond to sparks in pneumatic conveying and dust extraction systems, these principles were then applied to the monitoring of flames and in 1974 the first system was installed on a power station boiler. Since then many Talentum® systems have been installed around the world protecting valuable property from the risk of fire.

In January 2015 Fire Fighting Enterprises officially became known as FFE Limited.
