Free waste collection deal for 6 months following the launch of the Waste-Safe Mini. This new, essential service makes it easy for businesses to recycle hazardous waste such as light bulbs, batteries and electrical items.

Despite items like these being legally classed as hazardous waste, to date businesses have often not known how to dispose of them correctly.

Biffa’s new Waste-Safe Mini makes dealing with these items easy by supplying a cost-effective and hassle free storage and collection service for up to 25kg of mixed hazardous waste. It has been designed to suit larger businesses and those operating from industrial sites as well as those based in offices and shops, producing lower volumes of hazardous waste.

Announcing the launch of Waste Safe Mini, Biffa general manager, hazardous waste, Adrian Witherow said: “Waste Safe Mini helps any business throwing away things like old batteries or aerosols to make sure they are doing so in a quick, easy and cost efficient way whilst making sure they are complying with sometimes complex legislation.

“Waste-Safe Mini is a national service that could also help your business to achieve its corporate social responsibility (CSR) aims and the ISO 14001 environmental standard.”

Measuring just 600cm wide, 400cm in depth and 37cm high, the Waste-Safe Mini box is easy to store in a convenient place, making it as easy as possible to use.

The items that can be disposed of include bulbs and UV lamps, alkaline batteries, adhesives such as superglue, aerosols, waste electrical items (WEEE), full or part full paint tins, mineral oil (packaged), oil filters to rags or granules contaminated with oil or solvent.

Biffa’s experienced hazardous waste specialist teams and nationwide infrastructure for the collection, treatment and disposal of hazardous wastes ensures that all items are dealt with in the best way, recycling where possible and keeping the amount of waste sent to landfill as low as possible.

Waste-Safe Mini Offer – Terms and Conditions

· Entry is open to businesses registered within the UK.

· Use of a false name or address will result in disqualification.

· All entries must be made directly by the business entering the competition.

· The offer is not transferable to another business and no cash or other alternatives will be offered.

· Offers are subject to availability and Biffa’s terms and conditions.

· The winner agrees to the use of the business name and photograph and will co-operate with any other reasonable requests by Pelican PR relating to any post-winning publicity.

· One winner will be chosen from all correct entries received by the closing date stated within the promotional material.

· The winner will be notified in writing. Reasonable efforts will be made to contact the winner. Failure to respond or failure to meet the eligibility requirements may result in forfeiture of the offer. If they cannot be contacted, or are unable comply with these terms and conditions, Biffa / Pelican PR reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant drawn at random.

· The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into over this decision. Offers may be modified or withdrawn at any time.
