A welcome addition to the ever expanding product range from Martindale Electric, a leading pioneer in safety test equipment, is the category III VT12 Voltage and Continuity Tester with probes, designed for industrial and domestic use.

Constructed in accordance to the latest safety standard (EN61243-3, EN61010), the ergonomically designed VT12 guarantees safe and reliable measurements and testing, a necessity when dealing with high voltage.

Featuring an automatic AC/DC detection range from 12V up to 690V and continuity testing with optical and audio indication up to 200k Ohms, the user simply probes the circuit to obtain readings of AC or DC volts, or an audible indication of an open circuit.

Compact and robust, the VT12 has been designed to withstand rough handling and in Martindale’s distinctive yellow colour, will be easy to locate in even the most disorganised of tool bags.

Mapei (UK)

For the prestigious new 4,088m2 Punch Taverns Head Office in Burton-On-Trent, a system of Mapei’s adhesive and grouting solutions were specified to install porcelain tiles and matting throughout the low carbon building. R W Tyler Ceramic Tiling Contractors Ltd selected Mapei’s products, on behalf of Ashfords Construction.

First, Mapei KERAFLEX MAXI super single-part flexible adhesive was used to install Schlter-DITRA matting. A thin bed of adhesive was required to install the membrane throughout the reception, stairs, corridors and toilet floor areas. R W Tyler then installed Solus Ceramics porcelain tiles over the mat with Mapei KERAQUICK rapid-set flexible adhesive.

Together the flexible adhesives and Schlter-DITRA provide an uncoupling layer to protect the finished floor from any stress cracks resulting from substrate movement.

The tiled floor was then grouted with Mapei ULTRACOLOR PLUS in Cement Grey (one of 26 colours available), to complement the dark grey tiles. The flexible fast-setting adhesive was particularly suitable for these areas due to its anti-mould and dirt-repellent properties.

The finished floor is a distinctive running-bond pattern comprised of 3 sizes of tiles, providing a highly aesthetic environment for the leading pub chain’s offices.

Mapei’s Adesilex P9 adhesive in white was then used for installing wall tiles. A band of lighter coloured porcelain tiles was applied with the non-slip, extended open time adhesive in kitchen areas above sink and worktop areas.

Again tile joints were grouted with Ultracolor Plus in Cement Grey.
